Streets Run Watershed Trunk Sewer Work

Communities Involved: Baldwin Borough, Brentwood, West Mifflin, Whitehall

 

Project Goal: To create a multi-municipal program to rehabilitate the Streets Run trunk sewer to eliminate wet weather overflows and basement flooding.

 

Project Summary: Rehabilitation of the Streets Run interceptor sewer, including the rehabilitation of 5,200 linear feet of sewer using a combination of trenchless and open cut excavation; manhole reconstruction and raising of buried manholes; installation of cleanouts at the right of way line for the existing service laterals and a cured-in-place lining system from the interceptor to the cleanout.

Total Cost: $1,082,404

3 Rivers Wet Weather Grant Award: $501,050

Start Date: July 2002

Completion Date: Post-construction flow monitoring completed in June 2005.
