Pesavento Drive Rehabilitation Project

Community Involved: Bridgeville Borough

Project goal: To utilize complex engineering methodologies to focus only on necessary repairs and replacement of a sewer line that contributes to wet weather overflows and basement backups.

Project Summary: Locate and eliminate the sources of inflow and infiltration in this McLaughlin Run sub-watershed. Video inspection of the main lines and laterals and flow monitoring will be conducted before and after construction to document the reductions. Lining the sewer pipes was determined to be the most cost-effective method of rehabilitation, particularly considering the steep sloper in the project area. In addition to almost 5,000 feet of lining, a limited amount of open-cut repair will be performed, removal of protruding taps, as well as two new manholes and root removal, as required.
